Hi! I hope you are ready for the fresh new challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

This month we have an optional prompt for the HLS Watercolor Challenge.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers stamp & die set for the flowers. The coloring was done using the Camlin Brush Pens and the sentiment is from the Altenew One Go Birthday stamp & die set by Altenew.

I hope you liked my card. I look forward to your beautiful creations in the HLS gallery. Do visit the blog for some more inspiration by my teamies.

All About Layering 3 - Project #4...

Hi! Today's card is based on Day 3 of Altenew Academy's All About Layering 3 class taught by the amazing Lydia Evans. The card taught in class had a monogram with small flowers scattered around it. I thought this look would work with a frame as well. Here is my card.

I started with a sheet of watercolour paper stamped with a bunch of outlines from the Painted Flowers stamp set by Altenew. I had stamped some of them with the base layer in yellow. I still can't remember why! Anyway, I die-cut the images out and sprayed them with water. I scribbled some pink and red brush pens by Camlin and dabbed the colour on the flowers with a damp brush. I added two shades of green to the leaves and allowed them to dry. Really love the artsy watercolour look I got. I also added some gold splatters to the die-cut flowers so that they matched the sentiment.

For the card base, I took a top folding black one and did some black-on-black stamping with the Kaisercraft Script stamp to add some subtle texture to the background. I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Greetings stamp set by ALtenew with Versamark and heat embossed with gold EP. I also used a gold glitter pen to fill up the word 'Happy'.

The frame is from Mudra Craft Stamps. Initially, I had planned on colouring it. But I loved the way it looked against the black base. So I kept it raw and adhered it to the card base with liquid glue. I arranged the die-cut flowers around the frame, tucking some underneath and popping some on foam tape. Here is a closer look at the arrangement.

To finish, I added some gold sequins by Mudra Craft Stamps randomly. Here is another look at the card.

I hope you like my card today and will check out this great class.

Altenew Academy Project #20...

Hi! I am finally at the end of the classes for the Altenew Educator Certification Program - Level 2. Beautiful Details by Marika Rahtu is the final class I need to complete. I went through the lessons a while ago. But it took me some time to actually complete my assignment. Part of the reason is that I am totally intimidated by Marika's amazing work. She is so talented and I am a huge fan of her work. She teaches many techniques for adding extra details to your cards that will really make them shine. I concentrated on the very first lesson that focuses on using your stamps to create artistic cards. Here is my card.

I started with a piece of watercolour paper. I used the second layer of the leaf stamp and inked it with yellow, dark pink and two shades of orange markers. These are the brush pens by Camlin which have very intense colours. I overlapped the leaf to create a flower. I drew the stem by hand with my Zigs. Once the stamping was done, I lightly distressed the panel with blue, yellow and green inks and added some water splatters. Here is a closer look at the stamping.

The sentiment is from the Painted Greetings set, stamped with black ink. I  trimmed the panel and added a mat of green paper. The mat is adhered directly to the orange card base. The panel is popped up on some foam tape. I added some jute cord towards to top as a finishing touch.

I hope you like my card. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am very excited that my classes for Level 2 are done. I am looking forward now to receiving my final assignment. I have really enjoyed the journey till now and look forward to the future.

Love,
Nandini

Addicted To Stamps And More #257...

Hi! Wednesdays mean a new challenge at the Addicted To Stamps And More blog. This week's challenge #257 is all about

Here is my take on this challenge.

I decided to try a wet-on-wet stamping technique as shown by Sandy Allnock that I have been meaning to try for a very long time. You can check out the original blog post with the video tutorial here

I started with a piece of Textured White card stock by Itsy Bitsy. I love this paper since it is a lovely bright white and thick. You can check out my review of this paper here. I can add to that review and vouch that this paper is good for watercoloring as well! For coloring I used the new Camlin Brush Pens. They have recently come out with a set of 24 pens and I am totally in love with them! At Rs. 350/- they are a steal! The colors are vibrant and mix very well.

I mounted the Hydrangea Silhouette stamp by Joy! Crafts on my stamp positioner  and used a mix of pinks, yellow, green and orange pens to stamp. After the panel was dry, I die cut it with the Double Stitched Rectangle dies by DCAM. Here is a closer look at the panel.

The sentiment is from the Many Thanks stamp and cut set by Momenta. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed a piece of black card stock and die cut the center. After laying in my watercolor panel, I mounted the whole thing on a black card base with foam tape.

I hope you liked my card and are inspired to create something beautiful. Don't forget to check out the fabulous creations by my super talented team mates at the Addicted To Stamps And More challenge blog. You can also link your creations there.

Make My Monday Challenge #48...

Hi! I am back with a fresh new challenge at the Make My Monday blog. This time the theme is 'At The Beach'. Whenever I visit a beach I am always fascinated by the cute little crabs that run around in the sand. So I decided to make a card using a crab image.

I used an old Itsy Bitsy stamp set that has several cute sea creatures and stamped on a watercolor paper with Versamark. I heat embossed using black EP by Wow!. Originally I planned to use my watercolors to do the coloring. But then I came across this great tutorial by Julia Altermann of Just One More Card where she demonstrated a technique of using regular sketch pens to do the coloring of images. I decided to use my Camlin Brush Pens. And I loved the results! Here is a close-up of the panel.

I kept rest of the card super simple. I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch. The sentiment is from the Woodland Creatures stamp set by Hero Arts. I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP by Wow!.

I hope you are inspired to create something beautiful by my card. You can link up your creations to our gallery here. And don't forget to visit the Make My Monday blog for some amazing inspiration by my fellow DT.
