A vintage tag...
Hi! Super, super quick post today.
My first attempt at vintage style; something that I have been wanting to try for a long time. I hope I have been somewhat successful!
The base is a piece of file board. I textured it with acrylic paints in Dark Brown, Black, Metallic Gold and Metallic Bronze, applying the paints with a balled up piece of newspaper.
The corrugated sheet is recycled from an old box. The doilies, white embroidery floss and flower were stained with coffee. The flower is constructed from five scalloped circle die cuts. Buttons are from my stash.
The sentiment stamp is from Micia, stamped with a black Faber Castell ink pad. The flourish die is from Die Cuts and More.
The final touch was the butterflies which I had punched out and coloured with glitter for my Butterfly Card.

Strawberry bag
Hi! I decided to take a breather from paper crafting which has kept me busy for last few weeks and indulged my first love, sewing.
My daughter's exams started recently and she needed a small backpack to carry her stuff to school. I had seen a cute strawberry bag on Pinterest a while ago.
Bronwyn Hayes of Red Brolly has been kind enough to give a detailed tutorial for the bag. I took inspiration from her and made my own version of Strawberry Backpack.
Body of the bag is red casement which I lined with paper canvas for stiffness.
I used a cotton dishcloth with a pretty print as lining inside. Originally I was planning to use a red and white polka dot fabric for the body. But I didn't have enough material. So I used plain red and compensated by quilting it with simple diagonal stitching lines.
For the leaves, I used two fabrics in green. I liked Bronwyn's idea of leaving the edges raw so that they fray over time and give the bag a nice look. I also used the green print to make the drawstring and the top thru' which it will go.
My daughter was thrilled with the bag which holds all her stuff beautifully.
The best part is, this bag is completely washable in a washing machine (which is a prerequisite when you make anything for a child!).
The whole thing came together in about 3 hours. Maximum time was taken up by the quilting.
Now my brain has started thinking about other fruits that can be converted into bags!
I am now entering this bag in the Lets Create Crafts' April Craft Contest.

Baby Card
Hi! Back again with another challenge entry. The challenges at Beyond Grey and Catchy Challenges really got my creative juices flowing!
So here is another entry for Beyond Grey's BGC #27 - Fetch That Sketch
and Catchy Challenges, March Season IV
This time round I decided to make a quilted card, out of all the scraps of paper that I cannot bear to throw away.
The card size is 6 x 6 inches. I have used dark coffee brown card stock as the base. Other papers are a mix of handmade and pattern papers.
After I finished the card top with zigzag stitching, it reminded me of a small baby blanket. So I decided to make it into a baby card. Hence the baby feet on the tag.
Originally, I had planned to stamp a sentiment welcoming the new baby. But I feel the cute little feet say it all.
Now I am thinking of making similar cards in other color combinations.
