Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge - November 2022...

Hi! I am here with the inspiration for the November challenge of the Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge.

I created a card using the CrafTangles foil and an old stencil.

I used a very old stencil by Fevicryl, CrafTangles Foil Magic Gilding Glue and CrafTangles Copper Reactive Foil. The sentiment is from Altenew Painted Greetings stamp set. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a scrap of black paper and then ran it through the laminator. To finish, I mounted the panel on a black card base and added the sentiment, popped up on foam tape.

I hope my card inspires you to create something beautiful. You can visit the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog for more inspiration and link your creations. I look forward to visiting you in our gallery.

Altenew Educators’ "Secret Card Recipe" Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway

Hi! I hope you are enjoying this special blog hop by the Altenew Educators. We decided to share our secret hacks to create beautiful cards!  You should have arrived here from Bridget Casey's blog.

I created a card using one of my favorite styles - a bold background combined with silhouettes.

There are several ways to create bold backgrounds. One of my favorites is the Retiform technique. This is a grid technique where we draw lines across paper and add color. For this card, I used the Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush Markers in shades Fresh Lemon, Lime and Turquoise. I colored stripes of color in one direction. After drying my panel, I turned it 90° and colored again. This gives a lovely, plaid like effect to the panel. I also added some distressing by sprinkling droplets of water.

Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it and rounded the corners. For the silhouette images, I used the Bird of Paradise stamps and dies. The sentiment is from the Victorian Greenhouse stamp set.

I hope you liked my card and will give the retiform technique a try.

Happy Little Stamper October Watercolor Challenge...

Hi! I am back with brand new inspiration for this month's HLS Watercolor Challenge.

I created a card with a stencil and Brushos. This is a twofer as I got two cards out of one panel.

I started with a large piece of watercolor paper and taped the Sunflower stencil by CrafTreat on top. I sprinkled the Brushos on top and sprayed with water. I used yellow, green, orange and red Brushos. Once the paper was dry, I replaced the stencil and lightly inked the petals with red dye ink and the flower center with brown dye ink.

I cut the paper into half, getting two card panels. The sentiment is from a very old stamp set which I stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink. To finish, I trimmed my panel and popped it up on a dark brown card base with foam.

I hope you liked my card. I look forward to your beautiful creations in the HLS gallery. Do visit the blog for some more inspiration by my teamies.

Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge - August 2022...

Hi! I am here with the inspiration for the August challenge of the Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge.

My family loves reading and we always seem to run short of bookmarks. I got the idea of creating several at a time using some of the larger stamps and coloring stencils by Altenew.

I stamped the images from the Florescence stamp set on a sheet of ivory card stock. This stamp set is part of a kit that contains the stamp set, embossing folder and coordinating die & stencil. Though the image is quite intricate, the coloring stencils make it easy to color the image quickly. I used the mini ink blending tools and dye inks by Altenew. Once the whole image was colored, I cut it into smaller panels and adhered one of the panels to the green cardstock. I used the Botanical Bookmark die set to cut the green cardstock. The sentiment is from the BYG: Magnificent Branch stamp set, also by Altenew.

I hope my card inspires you to create something beautiful. You can visit the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog for more inspiration and link your creations. I look forward to visiting you in our gallery.

Altenew Educators’ "Clean and Simple" Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway

Hi! Hope you are enjoying the Altenew Educators blog hop. You must have arrived here from Bridget Casey's blog.

I have always loved Clean and Simple designs. So this theme really excites me! I have two cards for you today, using the Spotlight Technique. I have used the large floral branch from the Dynamic Blossoms Stamp Set and the sentiment from the Oriental Poppy Stamp Set for both cards.

For the first card I stamped the outline image on the left left side of a top folding cream colored card base and added the layers. I also stamped a small part of the image along the lower right corner of the card. I die-cut a small circle for my sentiment panel and stamped the sentiment with Altenew Permanent Black ink. To make the sentiment stand out more, I ran a black marker around the edge of the circle. To finish the card, I simply popped up the sentiment panel on the card with some foam tape.

For the second card, I die-cut a small rectangle out of the same ivory cardstock as the card base. I mounted the outline stamp in my stamp positioner and traced the outline of the card base on the base paper. I also centered the smaller rectangle and traced the position. I stamped the outline and the color layers on both the base and the rectangle alternately so that the stamping aligned exactly. I used grey inks for the card base and yellow and orange inks for the rectangle.

Once the stamping was done, I popped up the panel with foam tape on the card base, aligning the stamping. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on a scrap of black paper with Rose Gold Embossing Powder.

I hope you liked my Clean and Simple cards. And I hope you will give the Spotlight technique a try. I look forward to admiring your creations in our gallery.
