Altenew March 2022 Folktales & StoriesCollection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hi! Hope you are enjoying this blog hop. You must have reached here from the blog of the super talented Virginia Lu! I am so excited by this release! You can find the entire release here.

Card #1:

I am a huge fan of background stamps. So the first set I grabbed was the Geometric Botany stamp set.

I stamped the background in a light color. And then used the small stamps to fill in the design. Though it took some time to do this, I was very happy with the final result. I die-cut the panel and adhered it to a red card base over a black mat. The sentiment is from the Garden Rose stamp set. To finish I added some tiny red gems from my stash. Here is another look at the card.

Card #2:

I saved part the panel I created with the Geometric Botany stamp set. I combined it with the Rosy Blooms stamp and die set for the next card.

I ran a piece of brown card stock through the Decked Planks 3D embossing folder and adhered it to a white card base. I added the stamped panel over it. I first stamped the image from the Rosy Blooms stamp set with yellow ink and used the Artist Alcohol Markers to color it in. After the coloring, I re-stamped the image with embossing ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Card #3:
I really fell in love the with the cute cats from the Cat Life stamp set.

I stamped and die cut the images and adhered them to a pink card base. The water colored circle die-cut is from my stash. After I had assembled the card, I felt it looked a bit unfinished. So I used the dot stencil from the Playful Patterns stencil set to add some more detail. Here is a closeup of the kitty.

Here is another look at the completed card.

Bookmarks:

I love reading. And I love using bookmarks. So the Botanical Bookmark stamp and die set is already one of my favorites!

I simply mounted the stamps on a stamp positioner and created three bookmarks. I just changed up the colors. In one I used copper embossing powder instead of inks for a layer.

  15. I like your happy birthday geometric botany card. The red and yellow are just so happy and the small bits of blue keep it from being too strong. The rounded edges are a perfect touch.
