Altenew Build-A-Flower: Indian Lotus Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi! I am very excited and honoured to guest design for Altenew. You must have arrived here from the blog of Nathalie DeSousaIf you want to start from the beginning, just head back to the Altenew Card Blog.

The newest addition to the Build-a-flower series by Altenew is the Indian Lotus. Lotus flowers are common in India and are considered sacred. My great-grandparents' garden had a pond filled with beautiful pink and purple lotus flowers. I have very fond memories of spending lazy afternoons hanging around the pond, reading.

A little bit about the new release...

"Be true to yourself with this beautiful floral stamp set. This floral layering stamp set has a gorgeous 6-layered bloom along with a detailed coordinating lotus leaf. The accompanying leaf may also be used as a lily pad for extra versatility on your crafting projects. The beautiful accompanying sentiments are related to appreciating yourself, having confidence, and being authentic, so you can send motivation to your loved ones."

Here is the card I created.

The background was created using pigment powders and watercolor paper. I added some gold splatters to the background. For the slowers and the leaf, I stamped only the last layer using Versamark ink. I used metallic gold embossing powder to heat emboss and added some shading with green & pink inks. Here is a close-up of the stamping.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

I trimmed the panel and popped up the sentiment and the die-cuts with foam tape. Finally, I adhered the whole thing to a dark teal card base.

Here is another look at the finished card.

Hope you liked my card. I would love the hear from you. Scroll down for the shopping links and giveaway info.
