Hi! I hope you are enjoying the amazing inspiration shared by the designers that are participating in this blog hop. The blog hop begins from the Altenew Card Blog.
You must have come here from Virginia Lu's blog. Virginia is not just insanely talented, but also one of the sweetest people I know! She was my mentor during the AECP program and really helped and encouraged me.
If you love coloring, the new Paint-a-flower release is for you! This month's stamp features beautiful lotus flowers. If you are like me and not really confident about your coloring skills, you will love this stamp set because it has the most gorgeous outline images which create a lovely, aquatic scene.
I made two slimline cards for the release. I followed the same procedure for both the cards, just changing up the colors.
I started with two panels of watercolor paper, each measuring 4” x 9”. I used two sets of mini ink cubes for each panel; green and blue for the first and purple and yellow for the second. To create the background, I swiped the pads from the outer edge to around midway on the panel. I went from light to dark and repeated the colors till the end. Then I sprayed each panel with a lot of water and allowed them to dry overnight.Next day, I simply stamped the PAF Lotus and heat embossed with metallic gold embossing powder. The sentiment is also from the same set. Here are the ink colors I used.
Card #1:
Altenew Cool Summer Night & Tropical Forest mini ink cube sets
Card #2:
Altenew Pocketful of Sunshine & Rose Petal mini ink cube sets
To finish, I trimmed the panels and adhered them to Kraft
card bases for two slim-line cards measuring 9” x 4” each.
I hope you liked my cards and will give this technique a try. I would love to know which card is your favorite!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great technique to create these cards. It seems like it would be quick (other than the waiting for them to dry), too. NICE
