Altenew Academy Project #3...

Hi! I am back after a long break with my next project for Altenew Academy. This time it is based on the Easy Die Cutting Techniques class by the uber talented Yana Smakula. I have been a huge fan of her's for a long time. She makes really beautiful cards and her videos are simply fantastic!

My card today is based on one of my favorite die cutting techniques - Inlaid Die Cutting.

I started with a panel smooshed with blue and green inks. This has been in my stash for ages and I finally got to ink it. I trimmed it to fit over the postage stamp die cut. I also added some texture with the script stamp by Mudra Craft Stamps and Hero Arts White Unicorn ink. The die is from the Striped Florals set. I die cut the inked panel and replaced it with another die cut stamped with Memento dye ink. Here is a closer look at the panel.

I thought the card base looked too plain. So I took the outline image from the Peony Bouquet stamp set and did second generation stamping in the background. The sentiment is from the Persian Motifs stamp set.

I am very happy with the way this card turned out. I have also saved the inked die cut which I hope to use on another card.

Addicted To Stamps And More #281...

Hi! The easiest challenge is on this week at the Addicted To Stamps And More Challenge blog.

You can make absolutely anything creative for this challenge. I made a very quick card as inspiration.

This card came together in just minutes! It started with discovering the Heart of Roses diecut painted with strips of photo ink by Simon Says Stamp in my stash. I also found a green card base that matched the diecut. I used the Upcycled Woodgrain background stamp by Justrite Papercrafts to add some darker texture to the base. The white panel was cut using the Xcut rectangle die by Gina Marie Designs. The sentiment is from the Wonderful Words stamp set by CAS-ual Fridays. I stamped it with memento ink.

Here is a close up.

I hope you are inspired to create something beautiful and link it to our challenge here. Please also visit the Addicted To Stamps And More challenge blog for more inspiration by my very talented DT friends.

Addicted To Stamps And More Challenge #279...

Hi! The theme this week at the Addicted To Stamps And More challenge blog is

You can make anything like cards, scrapbook layouts, tags etc as long as it is Clean and Simple. This means that clean and crisp lines, minimal or no embellishments and lots of 'white' space.

This is my favorite style of card making and here is my inspiration.

I used the faux ceramic tile technique on the panel. I recently made another card with the same technique. You can check it out here. I referred to an excellent tutorial on the Faux Ceramic Tile technique at the Ellen Hutson blog by Julie Ebersol.

I hope you like my card and are inspired to create something beautiful. Please do visit the Addicted To Stamps And More challenge blog for more inspiration by my very talented team mates and also to link your creations to our gallery.

Nandini

Make My Monday Challenge #64...

Hi! It is Monday and the latest challenge at the Make My Monday blog is up. Emma has chosen a very interesting theme - Going In Circles. So pull out your circle stamps, dies, stencils, embellishments and make any project with at least 3 circles. Of course you can put more - more the merrier!

The first thing that came to my mind was a stamp set that I has designed for Craftyscrappers called Doodly Blooms. I had based the set on doodled circles. Here is my card.

I pulled out a bunch of pink inks by Altenew. I stamped the circles starting from the palest Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine. I stamped the three tiny dots with Versamark and heat embossed with gold EP. The sentiment is from the Bold Wishes stamp set by CAS-ual Fridays. I heat embossed it with gold EP on a piece of black card stock and popped up the panel with foam tape. To finish I added few of the beautiful gold couture sequins by Mudra Craft Stamps.

Here is a closer look at the card.

I love the way this card turned out. I hope you like it too and are inspired to create something beautiful. Remember to visit Make My Monday challenge blog to grab some more inspiration from my very talented teammates and also to link your creations to our gallery.
