A new card...

Hi! The vacations are on. My crafting time has expanded a bit since my daughter is at home to keep her little brother company.

So a new card for the current challenge at Beyond Grey Challenges, one of my absolute favourites. I loved the challenge when it was announced and was determined to play. The card came together quickly and looks exactly the way I wanted it. Which, at least for me, doesn't happen often!

The brief was to create a CAS card with black and gold. I love CAS and like both black and gold. So here is my entry for BGC #50: Back to CAS + Colour Challenge.

I used the sketch from House of Cards - April Challenge #2 CAS &/or Classic/Elegant + Sketch.

Here is a close up of the card.

Supplies used are black card stock, white handmade paper and assorted paper scraps. I prepared the background by using bubble wrap and metallic gold acrylic paint. Then flicked some black paint with my brush.

The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Bold Wishes. I embossed it with black embossing powder and then die cut into a circle. I deliberately kept the stray flecks of black before embossing as I wanted a slightly grungy look.

The chevron band was created using the zig zag die from the Shapeabilitites - On the Edge Cut/Emboss & Stencil Die set which I bought from Itsy Bitsy a while ago. I cut assorted paper and then glued them on a strip of scrap paper. The chevron band and sentiment are mounted on double sided tape. The final touch was gold sequins from my stash, for a bit of bling.

A card by my daughter...

Hi! I am back with a card, made by my daughter, aged 8 years. She made this card for her cousin who lives in Pune. The concept and work is all hers. All I did was to provide the materials.

Supplies used are white card stock and die cuts from assorted scraps of paper. I had cut these for the Summer Camp that I conduct every year and my daughter used the extras. The sentiment is from the Bold Wishes stamp set by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. The ink pad is from Itsy Bitsy.

I am entering this in the Case Study Challenge #188

Hope you liked this card as much as I did.

Love,
Nan

Bon Voyage...

A very, very quick post tonight, as I am still busy with my Summer Camp!

I made this card for a very good friend who is off to the US on a month long holiday.

Supplies used are white card stock, blue handmade paper from Chimanlals and yellow printer paper. The Die cut is from the Shapeabilities Play Time Cut/Emboss & Stencil Die set which I bought from Itsy Bitsy ages ago.

I created the sentiment and then printed it out on paper with my laser printer.

That is all from me for now.

Love,
Nandini
