Altenew March 2022 Whimsical Fairy Tale Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hi! Hope you are enjoying this inspiring blog hop! You must have arrived here from the blog of Reiko Tsuchida. I love the new embossing folders and the stencil.

I created four cards for this hop.

Card #1:

My first card uses the beautiful Peony Sunshine 3D Embossing Folder.

I dropped liquid watercolor in the embossing folder, sprayed with water and ran a piece of watercolor paper through it. Once the paper was dry, I covered one side of the embossing folder with embossing ink and ran it through with the coloured panel. I poured metallic copper embossing powder over the panel and used an old credit card to scrap away part of it and then heat set it.

The sentiment is from the Fresh Freesia stamp set. I decided to make a square card as I couldn't bear to trim the panel.

Card #2:

For the second card I decided to use the Eggcentric 3D Embossing Folder. I love the depth that this folder has.

I decided to use the debossed side for this card. I stamped the large floral branch from the Dynamic Blossoms CYL kit on some vellum and heat embossed with a blue embossing powder. I die-cut the image and adhered it to the card base. The sentiment is also from the Dynamic Blossoms CYL kit.

To finish I rounded off one corner of the card base.

Card #3:

I loved the Eggcentric 3D embossing Folder so much, I decided to create another card with it.

For this card, I took a panel of watercolour paper and smooshed ink over it. I ran it through the embossing folder. Here is a close up.

The die cuts are from the Dynamic Blossoms CYL kit and the sentiment is from the Garden Rose stamp set.

To finish the card, I just added some white pearls to the die-cuts.

Card #4:

For the final card, I used the Flower Bed 3D Embossing Folder.

I used watercolour pans to give a light wash of colour to my panel. Once the panel was dry, I ran it through the embossing folder. Leaving the panel in the folder, I rubbed some metallic gold wax over the entire surface. You can also use a pigment pad or a dry with paint to achieve this result. Just remember to keep a very light touch.
