Hi! I am back today with another card for Level 3 in the Altenew Educator Certification Program. One of the most interesting classes I have taken is the Easy As ABC by Therese Calvird. I have quite a few alphabet stamps and dies in my stash. Unfortunately, I haven't really used them much. So I was very excited with the techniques taught in this class which will enable me to use them more efficiently.
I created a personalised card for a friend who just opened her clinic. It was fun making the card with her name. And she absolutely loved it!
I started with a white panel and drew some guidelines very lightly with a pencil. The stamp set I used is the Filled Alpha. I mounted the alphabets on two small acrylic block so that I could stamp the letters close together. The alphabets were stamped with a light grey ink. Once the stamping was done, I erased the pencil lines. I used Artists Markers to colour the alphabets. Since I wanted very pastel colours, I used only the lightest shades of each group.
I trimmed the panel, rounded the corners and adhered the panel on a pale pink card base. The sentiments are from the Birthday Greetings stamp set. I stamped and heat embossed the 'Yay' on a die cut pink heart. Rest of it was stamped on a strip of white paper. Both the heart and the white strip were popped up on some foam tape. Here is a closer look at the card.
I hope you like this card and check out this great class at the Altenew Academy.
I am entering it in the following challenges:
I made the card for a friend who has just launched a new venture. Also, the technique is new to me.
