My inspiration today is a set of cards that I made for a friend recently.

I started with a piece of plain white card stock that I die cut with the X stitch Rectangle die set by Gina Marie Designs. The stamps are from the Sweet Cakes set by Simon Says Stamp. I used a bunch of Memento dew drops ink pads for stamping.

Here is a look at the entire set.

To finish I popped up the stamped panel on some foam tape. The teeny tiny flowers were die cut with the Floral Wreath die set by Sizzix from scraps of colored paper. I added a drop of white 3D to each flower as the final touch.

Product Review For Itsy Bitsy...

Hi! Sometime back I received a call from Itsy Bitsy asking me to do a product review for them. I was, of course, more than happy to do it! I received three shades of Fairy Sparkle, Texture Tack and a pack of Fleece White card stock.

I made several cards using these products and I am very, very happy and impressed with the quality.


I used simple stamping for the first card.

I used the Mini Modern Blooms stamp set by My Favorite Things and Memento dew drop inks to create an all over design. I then dipped the broad end of my brush into the texture tack and dotted it at the center of the flowers. I sprinkled the Fairy Dust over it and let it dry for some time. The sentiment is from the Recollections You Are Lovely stamp set. 

I really love the crisp and bright images I got with the Fleece White paper and the little bit of bling that the Fairy Sparkle added.

For my second card I decided to use stenciling.

I took a piece of paper that my kids has colored with distress inks from my scrap pile. I used a stencil that I had hand cut ages ago and applied some Indian Jamun distress ink by Artistry. I shifted the stencil slightly and applied Texture Tack through it. I then sprinkled the Fairy Sparkle and left it to dry. To match the card base I trimmed the Texture White paper to size and applied the ink directly.

I love the artsy look of this card. It is very easy to use the Texture Tack with a stencil and I love that it washes off very well.


For the third card I decided to combine the Fairy Sparkle with die cuts.

I first created my panel with the Leafy Pattern stencil by Mudra. The word die is by STAMPlorations. I cut it and then covered it with Texture Tack. I pressed the whole thing in a pool of Fairy Sparkle and left it to dry. To finish, I popped up the panel on a matching card base and adhered the sentiment to it.


For my final card I wanted to try something different. I decided to try stamping with texture tack.

I took a piece of Texture White card stock and stamped several flowers and leaves from the Freehand Florals stamp set by Wplus9 and die cut it with the matching dies. This is a beautiful layering set and I stamped one layer with texture tack. I added some Fairy Sparkle and allowed it to dry. The Sentiment is from Geometrical Patterns stamp set that I designed for Craftyscrappers. To finish I added some pretty sequins by Mudra Craft Stamps.

Really love the bit of sparkle that the Fairy Sparkle adds. Here is a closeup of the card.

A Four Fold Card...

Hi! The current challenge is up at the Make My Monday blog. This week the theme is Fancy Folds. Here is the card I made.

This kind is called a Four Fold card which I made for the first time. I also challenged myself to use pattern papers instead of creating my own. I used the Beary Hugs pack by Mudra Craft Stamps. This is a wonderful kit with a wide variety of pattern papers. 

I first took a long piece of kraft paper that was 7" tall and 16" wide. I scored at 5", 4", 4" and 3" and accordian folded the card base.I used chocolate brown paper as the mat and three different pattern papers. I adhered the papers to create the basic card.

The first sentiment panel was stamped and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Copper EP. The stamp is Hip Hip from Kaisercraft. I love the boldness of the sentiment on this. I also used the tiny cupcake image from the Let's Party stamp set by Mudra Craft Stamps to create a border at the bottom. I popped up the sentiment panel with foam tape.

The second sentiment is also from the Hip Hip stamp set from Kaisercraft. I stamped it with brown Memento ink. This time I used the banner image from the Let's Party stamp set by Mudra Craft Stamps at the top and colored it with sketch pens. The candles at the bottom are from the Sweet Cakes stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.

Here is the final fold.

I left this panel blank so that a message can be written. I just stamped the cute party hat from the Let's Celebrate stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio twice at the bottom right and colored them with sketch pens.

Faux Ceramic Tile Technique...

Hi! I recently tried a new technique with heat embossing that turned out very well. This is the Faux Ceramic Tile technique.

Addicted To Stamps And More #275...

Hi! The new challenge is up at the Addicted to Stamps and More blog. This is the Photo Inspiration week and we have a set of three beautiful pics for you.

There are many elements here that capture the attention. The classic black, white and gold combo, the bold stripes etc. My attention was drawn immediately to the cake. I loved the bands of colors and decided to use that as an inspiration.

I cut strips of paper and arranged them on a piece of scrap paper. I trimmed the panel and then mounted it on a black card base with foam tape. The sentiment was cut using the Thanks die by Mudra Craft Stamps. I cut it multiple times and then stacked the pieces for added dimension. To finish I added some star die cuts.

Make My Monday #62...

Hi! A very happy new year to all!

I am here today with a brand new Make My Monday challenge. The theme is Blue and White. I love this theme since blue and white is one of my favorite combos. I also feel it is one of the combos that work well for both feminine and masculine cards. So here is my take on it.

I was very inspired by this beautiful card by Agnisezka who blogs at Just Made From Paper. I started with panel of white textured paper. This is the Fleece White paper by Itsy Bitsy. I stamped random images from the Folk Sentiments set by Docrafts with Bahama Blue ink by Memento. I mounted the panel on a blue card base. I heat embossed one of the sentiments on a die cut circle of the same blue. I die cut a larger circle out of the white paper, adhered it to the card and then popped up the sentiment with foam tape. To finish I added thin trips of the blue card stock. Here is a closer look at the card.

Altenew Academy Project #2...

Hi! I am back with my card inspired by the All About Layering 2 class by the Altenew Academy. I haven't completed the whole course. So there will be more cards coming out soon.

I have always loved the Peony Bouquet stamp set by Altenew. I also find it very difficult to line up this set. But after all the tips and techniques that Nicole Picadura shared I am feeling much more confident about using this set.

I used a stamp positioner this time around since I wanted to make multiple cards. I will share two of the cards today.

The first card is simple layering.

I started with a panel of shimmery cream and gold card stock. This is a textured paper that I bought at a local store and I absolutely love it! I stamped the outline image from the Peony Bouquet stamp set with the Rocky Shore ink. This part of the Coffee Break ink set. That helped me get my base layer into position. I stamped the base layer with the same ink. Then I simply rotated the panel 180º and stamped again. I repeated this process for the entire card. I used Mocha and Espresso for the next two layers.

Here is an extreme close up of the main flower which shows the beautiful texture of the paper and the smoothness of the Altenew inks very well.

I masked off the main flowers and added the supplementary images with Mocha and Rocky Shore inks. Once the stamping was done. I popped up the panel on some foam tape and mounted it on a dark brown card base. The sentiment is from a CAS-ual Fridays stamp set. I heat embossed it with off white embossing powder.

The second card is similar. But I used a different technique for the layering.

Instead of stamping the base layer with a light color I used several layers of Versacraft Vanilla ink. I was inspired by May Sukyong Park's Inspiration card for lesson 2. I dried it well and then stamped with two shades of green Memento ink. Here is a closeup of the large bloom.

I completed the panel as before. The sentiment is from the Painted Greetings set and I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I used a gold Sharpie to add some line details to the sentiment panel and the paper strip. To finish I popped up the stamped panel on green card base with some foam tape, adhered the paper strip and popped up the sentiment panel as well. Here is a look at the completed card.

I enjoyed creating these cards. There is one more panel I created using the same technique and stamp set. I will post is very soon.

Altenew Academy Project #1...

Hi! A very happy new year to all! 2018 has started with a bang for me. The most exciting news for me is being accepted in the very first Altenew Educator Certification Program! Very few people world wide were chosen and I am really thrilled about this new turn in my journey as a crafter.

One of the requirements of the certification is completing the courses offered by the Altenew Academy. I also need to create at least one card based on what I have learnt and then upload it.

The first class I completed was All About Layering 1. If you struggle with layering sets, this is the course for you! The videos offer so many tips and tricks for layering that any one can start stamping like a pro by the end of it!

Here is the card I made 

I started with a panel of textured white card stock. I used the Peony Bouquet stamp set and stamped the images with Jet Black ink. I loved the idea of leaving the largest image without color. I used Frosty Pink from the Red Cosmos set for the berries and Memento Pear Tart for the leaves. The sentiment is from the Painted Greetings set. I stamped it with Jet Black ink, matted with green card stock and then popped it up on foam tape.
