Make My Monday Challenge #40...

Hi! The current Make My Monday Challenge #40 is up and the theme is Birds. So you can create anything to do with birds, feathers, nests, eggs, flying etc.

I honestly struggled with this theme. Though I have I few stamps with bird images, I couldn't think of anything to make. One of my favorite things to do when I am stuck is to go through Pinterest. I was doing this the night before the challenge was due when I came across this beauty by Bhavana Kesarkar. You must check out her blog Blending Art And Craft which is full of amazing creations. So I decided to CASE her card and here is what I came up with.

I started with a piece of white card stock that I cut with DCAM's Double Stitched Nested Rectangle dies. I blended some purple, pink and peach distress inks in the middle. I used the Script texture stamp by Kaisercraft and lightly stamped with Artistry Lavender Dash ink. I then added some splatters with silver pink acrylic paints. I stamped the bird image from the Winnie and Walter You've Got Love Mail stamp set with Picked Raspberry ink and heat embossed it with Ranger's Holographic EP. The sentiment is also from the same set and I stamped it thrice with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The only reason I got such crisp stamping was because of my trusty Stampaholic.

Here is a close up of the panel.

I mounted the panel on a kraft card base that I had lightly stamped with the same Script stamp by Kaiserkraft. Some sequins from my stash finished the card.

Hope you like my card. Do check out the Make My Monday challenge blog for more fabulous inspiration by rest of the DT.

I am entering this card in the CAS(E) This Sketch #209

Addicted to Stamps and More #229...

Hi! The new challenge is up at the Addicted to Stamps & More challenges this week and the theme is

So we want to see all your creations that use clean and crisp lines, minimal or no embellishments and lots of 'white' space.

This is also my favorite theme since I am very much a CAS girl.

I created a rather masculine card this time.

I started with a panel of white card stock that I cut with my DCAM Double Stitched Rectangle dies. I did some ink blending at the center of the panel with distress inks. Then I used my Gina Marie Stitched Star die to cut out a star. I wanted to 'dress up' my star a bit. So I stamped Script stamp by Kaisercraft with the Bronze metallic ink by Encore. I love this ink since it is very rich and has a beautiful shimmer. I distressed the edges a bit for more definition. Here is a closer look at my star.

I stamped the sentiment from the Let's Party stamp set by Mudra Craft Stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the Stampaholic to get the perfect placement of my sentiment. I finished the card by adhering the star directly to the kraft card base and mounting the panel on some foam tape to pop it up.

Hope you like my clean and simple card and are inspired to create something beautiful. Please do visit the ATSM blog for some amazing inspiration by my team mates. Looking forward to seeing your creations in our challenge gallery.

I am entering this card in the current HLS Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.

Also entering it in the Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge #157 - No Pattern Paper. Thanks Julie for the suggestion.

Addicted To Stamps & More #227...

Hi! The new challenge at Addicted To Stamps & More is up and this week it is

You can make your mark with pens, markers, pencils etc.

Here are the two cards that I made

And here are the steps that I took to make them.

I started with a piece of cream drawing paper on which I had stamped the Justrite Floral Stiched background couple of times. I often do this and give the sheets to my kids to color. I used Faber Castell sketch pens to color the background. These are simple sketch pens that come in a pack of 50 shades.

After I had finished coloring, I cut the paper into two panels with the Double Stitched Rectangle dies by DCAM. These are my go to dies for panels since they cut like butter and add a lovely stitched detail to the outside edge.

Rest of the cards were simple. I mounted the panels on some kraft cardstock cut with the same dies since drawing paper is very thin. I then mounted the completed panels on kraft card bases. here is a closer look at the completed panel.

The sentiment is from the Happy Day stamp set by CrafTangles, an Indian brand. I really love the font in this set. I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Metallic Pink EP by Wow! on a strip of black paper. I mounted the sentiment strip on some foam tape as well.

I hope you like my cards and are inspired to create something beautiful. Please link your creations here.
