Altenew Dreamy Bouquet Fabric Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hi! Hope you are enjoying this fabulous blog hop. Thank you Colleen Balija for sending you here. I am so excited about the release! Sewing is something I really love! I have been sewing since I was a very small child. I remember sitting in my mother's lap while she sewed with her old, manual sewing machine. My love for fabrics started from there. So I was really excited to work with these fabrics!

These fabrics are very high quality with beautiful prints. And they all coordinate well with each other!

Project #1:

I created a cute fabric embellishment as my first project.

I started by choosing three fabrics I really liked from the stash. I tore one strip each out of them of varying widths. You have to tear the fabrics to get the distressed edge which looks nice and also stops further fraying.

I joined the short edges of each and then stitched along the bottom of each strip. I pulled the thread on both sides tightly and tied a strong knot. I used hand sewing. But you can use a sewing machine if you wish.

I used hot glue to attach the rosettes to each other. You can also hand sew them instead. I also added a  small shell disc to the center.

Here is a look at the completed rosette.

To make the embellishment more versatile, I cute a small circle out of foam and adhered it to the bottom of the rosette with hot glue. I coated the other side with some tacky glue and allowed it to dry completely. 

This way the rosette can be removed and placed on any bag.

These rosettes are fun and easy to make. They can also be used to accessorize bags, clothes, hairbands etc. Hope you will give them a try.

Project #2:

I decided to spice things up and create a lovely background for my card.

Did you know you can use your Artist Alcohol Markers on fabric? I used pink to color in some of the white dots. And used green to join dots to create bunches of berries. Here is a closer look at the card.

I trimmed my fabric and adhered it to a top folding card base in white. I cut a frame out of the same paper and created a shaker card. The sentiment is from the Garden Rose Stamp set.

Happy Little Stamper February Watercolor Challenge...

Hi! I am back with brand new inspiration for this month's HLS Watercolor Challenge.

I created a simple card using the Monstera Leaves Altenew 3D Embossing Folders.

I pulled out my Brushos and sprinkled yellow and green powders into the depressions. I also used a small brush to ensure that there was no powder on the background. I sprayed both the embossing folder and the watercolor paper generously and ran it through the die-cutting machine. I allowed the panel to air-dry overnight so that the pigments would have a chance to spread naturally.
