Altenew Certified Educators 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 Instagram Hop...

Hi! I am a part of a fun Instagram blog hop with the theme 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 with other Altenew Certified Educators!

I used a technique I learned from Altenew Academy's Demystifying Mixed Media class, taught by Tania Ahmed. This is absolutely the best class if you want to learn the basics of mixed media.

I used a mix of die-cut leaves from the Virginia Rose 3D die set and the CAF Buttercup die set for the background. I also used the Striped Florals stamp and die set and the Painted Greetings stamp set for the sentiment.

The hop starts from @altenewllc so make sure you start from the beginning! Altenew is giving away a $20 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners! For a chance to win, please follow @altenewllc and @crown_focus and leave a comment by 6/1/2021.

Altenew will draw 5 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this Instagram hop and announce the winners on Altenew’s Educator Instagram hop post on 6/4/2021.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Lotus Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes)

Hi! I hope you are enjoying the amazing inspiration shared by the designers that are participating in this blog hop. The blog hop begins from the Altenew Card Blog

You must have come here from Virginia Lu's blog. Virginia is not just insanely talented, but also one of the sweetest people I know! She was my mentor during the AECP program and really helped and encouraged me.

I
f you love coloring, the new Paint-a-flower release is for you! This month's stamp features beautiful lotus flowers. If you are like me and not really confident about your coloring skills, you will love this stamp set because it has the most gorgeous outline images which create a lovely, aquatic scene.

I made two slimline cards for the release. I followed the same procedure for both the cards, just changing up the colors.

I started with two panels of watercolor paper, each measuring 4” x 9”. I used two sets of mini ink cubes for each panel; green and blue for the first and purple and yellow for the second. To create the background, I swiped the pads from the outer edge to around midway on the panel. I went from light to dark and repeated the colors till the end. Then I sprayed each panel with a lot of water and allowed them to dry overnight.

Next day, I simply stamped the PAF Lotus and heat embossed with metallic gold embossing powder. The sentiment is also from the same set. Here are the ink colors I used.

Card #1:

Altenew Cool Summer Night & Tropical Forest mini ink cube sets

Card #2:

Altenew Pocketful of Sunshine & Rose Petal mini ink cube sets

To finish, I trimmed the panels and adhered them to Kraft card bases for two slim-line cards measuring 9” x 4” each.

I hope you liked my cards and will give this technique a try. I would love to know which card is your favorite!

Altenew Classic Imagery Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi! Hope you are enjoying this great blog hop! You must have arrived here from Seeka. I always love her elegant designs!

The new Classic Imagery Collection is really great with lots of different designs. There is something for everyone. You can check out the whole collection here.

Card #1:

For my first card, I decided to use the Terrazzo Tile stencil is great for masculine cards. It mimics the beautiful Terrazo tiles that contain small chips of marble, granite, etc.

I started with a cream panel and used three different embossing powders with each of the three stencils.

Once the heat embossing was done, I decided that the panel needed some more texture. So I ran it through the new Bunch of Balloons 3D embossing folder.

Here is a close-up.

After trimming the panel, I glued it to a top folding kraft card base.

The sentiment is from the Birthday Greetings stamp set.

Card #2:

One of my favorite stencil techniques is offset inking. This works especially well with stencils like the Lacy Tiles stencil which has a small repeating pattern.

After attaching the stencil to a white card base, I inked with Parrot and Moss inks for an ombre look. Next, I cleaned the stencil and offset it. Then I used Ocean Waves and Desert Night for the inking.

The sentiment is from the new Carpe Diem stamp set. I stamped it on a scrap of white paper with Desert Night and Moss inks. I also cut a larger mat out of the same white paper and ran it through the Deck Planks 3D embossing folder.

To finish, I rounded the bottom corners of the card.

Card #3:

I made a card set as my third project. In the current situation, it is important to let people know that they are in your thoughts. So I made a set of 'Thinking of You' cards.

I chose dark brown card bases as I wanted to make unisex cards. I ran the bases through the Deck Planks 3D embossing folder for a nice texture.

I used three of the stencils from the Quilt Blocks stencils set. I used different double complementary color schemes for each card.

Once my stenciling was done, I trimmed the panels and added them over the sentiment panels. The sentiment is from the Leaf Canopy stamp set.

Here are the three cards together.

I hope you liked my cards. I would love to hear which is your favorite card and your favorite product today! Here are all the products I used from the new Classic Imagery Collection release. Click on the image to head to the Altenew store.

Altenew 8”x11” Majestic Bouquet Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes)

Hi! You must have arrived here from Kelly Griglione's blog. She always inspires me with her beautiful work!

I hope you are enjoying this very special blog hop as I am very excited about today's special release!

This is the largest and most amazing layering stamp set I have ever seen!

Here are some details of the set.
  • Make a huge statement with this 8" x 11" stamp set!
  • This is our first-ever stamp set in our largest stamp size category. We hope it inspires you to create projects that are bigger, bolder, and drop-dead gorgeous!
  • The set features two beautiful layering flowers illustrated in a loosely painted style, plus a collection of leaves. The matching flowers and leaves from the Majestic Bloom 3D Embossing Folder perfectly coordinate in size and will allow you to take your gorgeous flower to the next level by giving it extra dimension!
  • This is an 8" x 11" clear stamp set containing 41 stamps made in the USA from high-quality photopolymer.

Card 1:

My first card is a gatefold card, with a difference.

The white base was stamped with the outline image of the largest leaf in the set using the Evening Grey ink. I drew the opening I wanted with a pencil and cut it away with a craft knife. This gave me a rather funky gatefold opening.

The bloom was stamped on white paper using the following inks – Grapewine, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Fresh Lemon, Honey Drizzle, Bamboo and Olive. I die-cut the stamped paper with a circle die along with a slightly larger red mat. I layered the two circles and then stuck the piece only to the right side flap of the gatefold.

The sentiment is from the Birthday Greetings stamp set. I stamped another sentiment from the Birthday Greetings stamp set inside the card, taking care that it did not show through when the card was closed.

It was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Another look at the card.

I decided to revisit an old favorite technique using colored card stock for my next two cards. This is a great technique that was inspired by May Sukyong Park. You can find her original card along with a detailed video here. I used the same technique for my final project for the AECP Level I. You can find it here.

Card 2:

I started with a blue card base and used a mix of white pigment ink, distress oxide inks, and Altenew dye inks for the stamping.

Here is the detailed list of inks I used:

Distress oxide inks – Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber, and Peeled Paint

Altenew dye inks – Olive and Ocean Waves.

The sentiment is from the Leaf Canopy stamp set. I heat embossed it with some pale blue embossing powder.

Card 3:

I used the same process as the previous card. Instead of blue, I used a golden yellow card base.

I used white pigment ink and Altenew dye inks – Lavender Fields, Midnight Violet, Maple Yellow, Picked Raspberry, Honey Drizzle and Olive for the stamping.

The sentiment is from the Fresh Freesia stamp set.

Here is a look at all my cards for today.

Another look.
